autumn days

This weeks challenge on Caardvarks was ‘live and let die’ to use die cuts on a card. I made this simple card using an assortment of Bazzill scraps and my Leaf mini die from Quickutz (RS-0201). The message was stamped using my fabby Karen Foster mini casual snap stamps.

make u well medicine

My mum loves cutting out the Jolly Nation (Paper Nation) decoupage and on the pages you get little extras to make your card. Now I love clean and simple, so I loved how cute this little card turned out.

sewn silhouettes

The september card challenge on the UKS Card forum is to use stitches buttons or fabric (or indeed all three!). Now I’ve wanted the Stampin’ Up silhouette stamps for a while, and this came to mind as the next best thing.
The design was machine stitched freehand on my much loved ancient Bernina. The sentiment is a pebbles inc duplicates rub-on.
ETA This won a Moxie Fab challenge.

mon amie, l’oiseau

Now I’m pulling on my long redundant french to say ‘my friend, the bird’...? (I hope).
So at a UStamp chat, we were talking about a stamp resist technique... so I had a go and this is my effort. I used the SU French Flair stamp (which I really love) and the matching Carte Postal set for the sentiment. The ink and matching paper are both Mellow moss. I used a white embossing powder and rubbed the ink pad over the top.
The tag was cut out using the petite oval nestabilities set and the ribbon was recycled as it came around a pack of card blanks.
I’m not that impressed with it... but it’s not as clean and simple as I’m used to...

you're leaving

I needed a leaving card on short notice, and my mojo wasn't with me... so I copied one of my own cards and was really quite pleased with the result. The font is the Quickutz Merry from last years Christmas gift pack.

happy bird day

My mother gave me a huge pile of Jolly Nation decoupage to make into cards, and my heat just went for this really cute parrot. I stamped the sentiment using Karen Forster snap stamps (mini casual) which I would be lost without.

I promised instructions for my crazy scrap cube so I made a little video. I hope it is all clear.

baby boy

How cute is this card, made from DCWV spring stack papers. The scalloped edge is cut with my BG notch tool and the holes cut with a Fiskars hand punch.

A fun and funky congratulations card.
I used DCWV brights card stock, and Quickutz Bright alphabet.

recipe card

I invented a recipe for biryani, having only ever eaten one biryani from a supermarket I’m not really an expert, but my dish is good however tenuously linked to the original. When asked to provide the recipe, I made this cute card, which proved quite a challenge as I never measure or weigh anything.
The dies are all Quickutz, for the tab, I used a die out of the tab set, and cut card which was doubled over. Cardstock is DCWV.
