dove wedding card

I don’t often used gate fold cards but there is always the odd occasion. The inside and outside of the card were covered in doodlebug pastel confetti paper. With the top and bottom of the front being trimmed in doodlebug Honeydew bazzill cardstock (because the pastel confetti wasn’t quite big enough).

A dove was stuck over the center of the opening and the card was finished with a couple of congratulations peel offs.

miss you with yellow flowers

I have always preferred the Sizzix Sidekick die cutting system to the QuicKutz system perhaps because I can see where on the die I am positioning paper with the Sidekick meaning I can be more frugal. However I have always liked many of the QuicKutz dies. Thanks recently to the introduction of the Sizzix adapter I can use QuicKutz dies on my system.

The Flower Doodads die was a crazy purchase on ebay. It was cut in both a light and medium yellow with the darker centers used on the flowers.

The ‘Miss You’ epoxy sticker was layered on white bazzill and plain blue paper before being placed at the center of a 4” square card covered in Papermania blue dot paper. The flowers were placed randomly around.

This card was made entirely using the contents of one of the QVC (UK) TSVs that my mum is so fond of. Item 584406 if the link doesn’t work. A piece of the pink stripy paper down the center of the card highlighted with silver peel off lines of differing thicknesses, the medium frame with flowers mounted on pearl card and cut out embellished with a butterfly sticker.

The card was finally finished with Best Wished and flower peel offs and little dots which would be considered the bits left behind on the peel off sheet.

I love sending people a nice thank you card if they have done me a favour or given me a gift. When you have made the card it makes it even more personal.

This card is so simple, the card itself was cut from a light weight piece of card measuring 4 3/4” x 5 1/2” and folded down the long edge. This was completely covered in the doodlebug paper ‘Perfectly Purple Stripes’. The word ‘Thanks’ was written on Lily White bazzill in lavender letters by Sue Dreamer and matted onto a piece of Swimming Pool bazzill cardstock.

This was stuck centrally onto the card using 3D foam and finished with a knot of ribbon in the turquoise colour.

My gran is the person I send most of my cards to, a weekly note of what I am doing. There is only one thing to remember when I make cards for my gran - make them shiny. She has very poor sight due to two cataracts and manages to see the shine if nothing else.

Every time I see shiny embellishments I get them ready for use. These were from a box of Papermania gems with centers drawn in in yellow 3D paint. The word ‘fleurs’ was cut out using the now retired Sizzix Sizzlits Funky Brush alphabet.

The green and pink contrast well with each other but I don’t know any details as they were both just in the collection of oddments.
